It's a biographical adventure film based on #NathanielPhilbrick's 2000 non-fiction book of the same name, about the sinking of the American whaling ship Essex. In 1820, crewmen (#ChrisHemsworth, #BenjaminWalker, #CillianMurphy) aboard the New England vessel Essex face a harrowing battle for survival when a whale of mammoth size and strength attacks with force, crippling their ship & leaving them adrift in the ocean. Pushed to their limits & facing storms, starvation, panic & despair, the survivors must resort to the unthinkable to stay alive. Their incredible tale ultimately inspires author #HermanMelville to write "Moby-Dick." This film is set to be released on December 3, 2015. This film is a survival drama, a rip-roaring adventure & even a monster movie, but what it really accomplishes, is to remind us that once upon a time, humanity was unflinching in its thirst for discovery.
