Presenting 10 feature films from the late 90s till present, opens with the Malaysian premiere of 7 Letters (2015) – an emotive anthology by 7 of Singapore’s most illustrious filmmakers, celebrating the country’s 50th year of independence through the lives & stories of Singaporeans. Each ‘letter’ is intricately interwoven with memories, experiences, joys & woes which honest, sincere, unembellished. Yet through them all, the theme of home threads through.

2. “That Girl” directed by #JackNeo; a heartwarming story about first loves set in a kampung.
3. “The Flame”directed by #KRajagopal; a very personal story about Rajagopal’s parents’ life-changing decision to stay in S'pore following the British’s withdrawal from the newly independent country.
4. “Bunga Sayang” directed by #RoystonTan; a profusion of nostalgia & a mini-musical extravaganza draped around a boy (#RayTanLiangYu) & his upstairs kueh-making makcik neighbour (#JRosmini).

Premiere Screening of The 5th Wave

The 5th Wave is a science fiction thriller film based on #RickYancey's eponymous novel. Four waves of increasingly deadly alien attacks have left most of Earth devastated. Against a backdrop of fear & distrust, Cassie Sullivan (#ChloëGraceMoretz) is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother Sammy. As she prepares for the fifth wave, Cassie teams up with a young man named Evan Walker (#AlexRoe), who may become her final hope – if she can only trust him. This film is set to be released on January 14, 2016. This is alien-invasion-by-the-numbers, while the tone can be a little cloying, veering between heart-wrenching moments of family love-and-loss to the requisite blossoming youthful romance. Of course, the film’s closing scene leaves the survivors primed for a sequel. The 5th Wave is the first novel in a trilogy – thus there is a fair chance a sequel will be along in a year or so. Regardlessly I can say that this was definitely an emotion feel-good movie to start of #2016's premiere! I'd give 4.5 🌟 just bcoz The 5th Wave inevitably has some familiar elements: the "teens survive invasion/save the world" narrative, #TheMazeRunner + #TheHungerGames + #Divergent (I'm on #TeamBenParish BTW 😅). Thanks to my sis @sweetpeareen n @klips_my for d invites! 😰😱👽🔫🎥🎬

Preview Screening of The 33

The 33 (#Los33) is a Chilean survival drama film, based on the real events of the 2010 mining disaster, in which a group of thirty-three miners were trapped inside the San José Mine in Chile for more than two months. Disaster strikes on Aug 5, 2010, as a copper & gold mine collapses in Chile, trapping 33 men underground. With more than 2,000 feet of rock in their way, members of a rescue team work tirelessly for 69 days to save the seemingly doomed crew. Beneath the rubble, the miners begin an epic quest to survive, contending with suffocating heat & the need for food and water. With family, friends & the rest of the world watching, it becomes a race against time & a true test of the human spirit. This film is set to be released on December 31, 2015. Based on true events, & well balanced, the story of "The 33" may be a surprise to many who only know the basics of the event. Regardlessly I can say that this was definitely amazing with the fact that this was all based on a true story, such an inspirational, emotion feel-good movie! Thanks @klips_my n @yes4g for d invites! 😰😟🎥🎬

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (also known as Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens), the seventh installment in the Star Wars film series is an epic space opera film directed, co-produced & co-written by #JJAbrams. The Force Awakens is set approximately 30 years after the events of #ReturnOfTheJedi (1983), where the Rebel Alliance & the Galactic Empire have become the Resistance & the First Order, respectively & follows new leads #Finn, #Rey & #PoeDameron alongside characters returning from previous Star Wars films. This film is set to be released on December 17, 2015. Packed with action & populated by both familiar faces & fresh blood, The Force Awakens successfully recalls the series' former glory while injecting it with renewed energy. It's the fun of seeing something fairly successfully redone, with the promise of more of the same to come! Despite I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars trilogy, I found it quite amusing to watch with some catchy funny punchlines that kept me entertained & might wanna watch it again! Pssstttt did you know that #DanielCraig made a cameo in this movie too! Can't wait for the next installment which goin to be released on March 26, 2017! MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!!! Thanks again @lowyatnet for d invites! 😄😎🎥🎬
