Patriots Day is a drama-thriller film about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing & the subsequent terrorist manhunt. Directed by Peter Berg, the film is based on the book Boston Strong by Casey Sherman & Dave Wedge. In this film we shall see @markwahlberg, J. K. Simmons, John Goodman, @kevinbacon & @realmonaghan stars in this compelling true story.
Tragedy strikes on April 15, 2013, when two bombs explode during the Boston Marathon. In the aftermath of the attack, police Sgt. Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg), FBI Special Agent Richard DesLauriers (Kevin Bacon) & Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman) join courageous survivors, first responders & other investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the suspects & bring them to justice.
A dramatized story with the tension & urgency of a thriller that keeps suspense & expectation high. Perfect pacing, ultra-realistic special effects & great acting make this an action thriller not to be missed. The film is also a humble & heartfelt tribute to the real-life heroes behind the tragic incident & it celebrates the community's courage in the face of adversity.
All I can say, it's a story about one city, but it honors the essence of America & it shows that when the going gets rough, they're all Boston Strong. I'd give 4/5 🌟🌟🌟 bcoz despite the film is a bit lacking compared to Berg-Wahlberg's previous collaboration, it does stand out in terms of its accuracy, realism & attention to detail. Having said that, them also being the talented cast are able to provide a few chuckles for the audience including me, while still having eyes well up with sadness. I can confidently say that this is a great film that pays tribute to this very touchy event. Thanks to #CinemaOnline for the invites! 😰😟😢🔫🎥🎬
