KLIPS Best Movies of 2015

KLIPS has launched its first-ever movie screening event - KLIPS Best Movies Of 2015, a night of the best movies in 2015 for movie buffs in partnership with TGV Cinemas & sponsored by Tiger White & Honor. The invite-only event featured movies from 4 genres (Action, Comedy, Horror, Drama/Adventure) that had received the highest number of votes from a poll that ran on the KLIPS site in December 2015. During the voting period from 18 Dec 2015 to 4 Jan 2016, movie buffs nationwide get to vote for their favorites out of 31 shortlisted movies released in 2015 across 6 genres - Animation, Action, Comedy, Horror, Drama/Adventure & Romance. The response for KLIPS Best Movies of 2015 campaign was overwhelmed with more than 3000 Malaysians voting for their favourite movies, garnering more than 1.5M impressions across KLIPS sites & social media. Exclusive invites were sent out to some 500 lucky voters. The event was held at TGV Cinemas in Encorp Strand Mall with a night of exciting movie screenings & exclusive movie merchandise including framed movie posters. The event kicked off with giveaways every 15 minutes, followed by simultaneous screenings of ‘#FastandFurious7’, ‘#TheMartian’, ‘#InsidiousChapter3’ & ‘#Spy’ in four separate movie halls. Movie hall seats were distributed based on each voter’s genre preference. Attendees also received various goodies from event sponsors Tiger White & Honor, while a lucky few walked away with a carton of Tiger White beers, Honor Z1 bands & TGV Movie vouchers. #TigerWhite sponsored hall attendees were also treated to beer at the event at a cordoned off area & a bottle each as they watched their movie which designated only for guests above 18 & non-muslims. I did enjoyed watching 'Spy' again eventhough initially intended to watch 'The Martian' at 1st. The movie was totally hilarious made me can't stop laughing till the end. Thanks to @klips_my for d invites & #goodies bag, @tgvcinemas for some food given! We had a fun nite! 😋😊🎬🎥

Premiere Screening of Ride Along 2

If you've watched the 1st one, you're not goin to miss the sequel! This film will be released nationwide on January 21, 2016. Ride Along 2 is an action comedy film, the sequel to the 2014 film #RideAlong! Rookie lawman Ben Barber (#KevinHart) aspires to become a detective like James Payton (#IceCube), his future brother-in-law. James reluctantly takes Ben to Miami to follow up on a lead that's connected to a drug ring. The case brings them to a homicide detective & a computer hacker who reveals evidence that implicates a respected businessman. It's now up to James & Ben to prove that charismatic executive Antonio Pope (#BenjaminBratt). is actually a violent crime lord who rules southern Florida's drug trade. Ride Along 2 is nothing more than a decent movie, but it's pretty funny. Kevin Hart & Ice Cube work well together & the addition of #KenJeong & #OliviaMunn was fantastic. It's written well enough that the story flows & jokes are set up to keep us laughing. All that I can say that it was hilarious, another good movie to start of 2016's premiere! I'd give 3.5/5 🌟 bcoz of the jokes content made me can't stop laughing all the way through. Thanks to #CinemaOnline for d invites! 😃😂🔫🎥🎬

Premiere Screening of The 5th Wave

The 5th Wave is a science fiction thriller film based on #RickYancey's eponymous novel. Four waves of increasingly deadly alien attacks have left most of Earth devastated. Against a backdrop of fear & distrust, Cassie Sullivan (#ChloëGraceMoretz) is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother Sammy. As she prepares for the fifth wave, Cassie teams up with a young man named Evan Walker (#AlexRoe), who may become her final hope – if she can only trust him. This film is set to be released on January 14, 2016. This is alien-invasion-by-the-numbers, while the tone can be a little cloying, veering between heart-wrenching moments of family love-and-loss to the requisite blossoming youthful romance. Of course, the film’s closing scene leaves the survivors primed for a sequel. The 5th Wave is the first novel in a trilogy – thus there is a fair chance a sequel will be along in a year or so. Regardlessly I can say that this was definitely an emotion feel-good movie to start of #2016's premiere! I'd give 4.5 🌟 just bcoz The 5th Wave inevitably has some familiar elements: the "teens survive invasion/save the world" narrative, #TheMazeRunner + #TheHungerGames + #Divergent (I'm on #TeamBenParish BTW 😅). Thanks to my sis @sweetpeareen n @klips_my for d invites! 😰😱👽🔫🎥🎬
